Weekly Dev Log #15


Hi there, weekly devlogs are back as most of the work for my thesis is done. In this one I'll go briefly on what I've done in the last 3 weeks:

Art Department

  • Remade player character's battle idle animations in glorious 64 by 64 bits
  • Polished battle background to its final version
  • Made Mac and Ken's animation for a support move
  • Made some sprites for Ken in battle to be used when he jumps

Programming Department

  • Developed a shader to use when characters are moving fast in battle animations (based on this one)

  • Integrated the shader in the game
    • Fixed bug that caused problems with the data sent to the shader
    • Fixed bug that made the shader results to depend from the FPS of the game
  • Added movement animations for characters in the battle app that take into account where is the target of an attack
    • Fixed bug that caused these kind of animations to skip a frame

Writting Department

  • Created cutscene that goes after the tutorial

Other

  • Made a small thumbnail for devlogs
