Weekly Dev Log #39

The objective of this last week was to have a playable demo by the end of it. I tested the game with a friend on the weekend and it turned out pretty well. We discovered some bugs, but none of them ruined the experience.

QA Department

  • Tested the game with a friend
  • Friend managed to finish the demo in a little less than an hour
  • Bugs found
    • There's an exploit to grind infinite orange segments
    • You can apparently skip the first scene after the tutorial somehow, gotta check how they do that
  • Other problems
    • Left a debug feature which closes the game at any when pressing the "escape" key in the demo
      • This was very annoying
      • Music equalisation, specifically the battle music and the end cutscene music
  •  Behavior observed
    •  for my friend it is intuitive to pause the game with esc
    • my friend doesn't like to use all of their items, they like to save stuff if something happens
    • when enemies did very little damage my friend didn't noticed the damage, they thought it was a bug but checking the footage it wasn't
  • Opinions
    • The last fight of the demo is very difficult
    • Really liked:
      • Lovers side quest
      • The music
    • The tutorial was too much text
    • The secret in room A2 is too hard to find
